DAY 1 OF “OPERATION MOTHER’S DAY” CAMPAIGN NETS 11 ARREST FOR NON-PAYMENT TOTALING $135,653.72: Jefferson County, Arkansas – May 8, 2013 – Just before sunrise, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputies launched an all-out campaign dubbed, “Operation Mother’s Day”.  This is the seventh year for the operation, which Sheriff Gerald Robinson started in 2006.  The 2-day operation began this morning just before sunrise during which time deputies received their arrest team assignments and were issued outstanding warrants of arrest for individuals delinquent on court ordered child support payments.  Day 1 of the operation netted the arrest of 11 individuals for non-payment totaling in the amount of $135,653.72 in delinquent child support payments to mothers for their children.  Additionally, there were 2 arrest made for misdemeanor warrants totaling in the amount of $2,730.00.

One of Sheriff Robinson’s many campaign promises when he took to the helm of the Office of Sheriff in 2007 was to hold deadbeat dads more accountable regarding financial support of their children.  The mission of this operation is and always will be to “ensure children and families receive court-ordered financial and medical support” from deadbeat dads and/or non-custodial parents.  Although complaints from single mothers regarding little to none financial support of their children from deadbeat dads has minimized since the launch of this operation , non-support from deadbeat dads continues to be a problem for some single mother’s struggling to make ends meet.

The names listed below are among those who the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office records currently show to be delinquent in court ordered child support.  Those individuals who are currently non-compliant with the Office of Child Support Enforcement relative to court ordered child support are strongly urged to become compliant prior to Sunday, May 12, 2013.  Those individuals who remain non-compliant through Thursday, May 9, 2013 can surrender themselves to the W.C. “Dub” Brassell Adult Detention Center or risk being arrested during this operation.  Day 2 of the operation will commence tomorrow morning.
