SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING SUSPECTED DOUBLE HOMICIDE/SUICIDE:  On July 27, 2024, a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputy was dispatched to a residence on Lakeview Drive in Jefferson County regarding an unresponsive adult and juvenile female with blood on the upper part off their body. The 911 caller advised she had been inside the residence and had seen the unresponsive persons and that there was another person inside the residence.

Due to the unknown nature of the incident the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team was activated. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Officers from the Arkansas State Police, Pine Bluff Police Department, and White Hall Police Department. Contact was made by phone with the individual inside the residence and attempts to have him come out were unsuccessful. After a period of time officers heard what appeared to be a gunshot being fired inside the residence and phone contact was lost. Attempts to reestablish contact failed.

Members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team made entry into the residence and located a white male in the living room of the residence deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, with a handgun located on his person. An adult female was located in a bedroom and suffered an apparent gunshot wound. A juvenile female was located in another bedroom of the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.

All individuals will be transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy and determination of the cause of death. This is an ongoing investigation.
