JEFFERSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING DISCOVERY OF HUMAN REMAINS:  Jefferson County, Arkansas - November 16, 2024 - At approximately 8:30 AM a Deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO), Uniformed Patrol Division was dispatched to the 1900 block of Highway 425 in regard to possible human remains being discovered. Upon arrival the Deputy was able to determine this to be factual and contacted the on-call JCSO Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Investigator. Other investigators have been called to the scene. A search of the area as well as an investigation is being conducted.

Without any positive identification on scene the remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in an effort to obtain an identification. Other law enforcement agencies are encouraged to contact us regarding any missing person investigations they may have.
