SECOND JAILER ARRESTED IN INVESTIGATION INTO CONTRABAND IN JAIL:  Jefferson County, Arkansas - November 22, 2024 - At approximately 6:30 PM Investigators with the Tri-County Drug Task Force (TCDTF) and Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested Zhane Johnson, at the W.C. "Dub" Brassell Adult Detention Center (DBDC) shortly after she arrived for her shift as a jailer in the facility. Johnson was found to be a suspect in an ongoing investigation conducted by TCDTF and CID regarding contraband being brought into the facility. Johnson was booked into the DBDC on the charges of A.C.A.  § 5-64-401 Criminal Conspiracy, and A.C.A. § 5-64-404 Criminal Use of a Communication Device. Johnson will appear before court on Monday morning for a probable cause hearing regarding the allegations.

"This ongoing investigation and subsequent second arrest should not only a warning to current or future employees but also to any citizens who are part of these efforts to introduce contraband into our detention facility. The health, welfare, and safety of our detainees is of upmost priority, and we will continue to use every resource at our disposal to expose those who are part of this criminal activity" Sheriff Woods said.
