On October 19, 2014, following a series of medical complications, Deputy Dedrick Mustiful was transported to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC), where he passed.
Deputy Mustiful was employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office since January 16, 2014, where he served as a Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Transportation Division. Deputy Mustiful was transferred to the Uniformed Patrol Division following completion of his law enforcement training.

Date of Incident: August 25, 2013
On August 25, 2013, Betty McEntire was traveling east along US65B/Martha Mitchell Expressway enroute to church. Betty's SUV left the roadway on the southside of the expressway. Her SUV struck a dirt embankment before going airborn and striking a group of trees, where the SUV later came to rest. McEntire was immediately rushed by ambulance to the (UAMS), where on August 25, 2013 she passed as a result of the serious injuries she sustained during her accident.
Betty was employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for fourteen (14) years, where she served as the Administrative Secretary to the Sheriff Gerald Robinson.

Juvenile Detention Officer Leonard Sanford Wall

Suspect Info: Charged with capital murder
Juvenile Detention Officer Leonard Wall succumbed to injuries sustained when he was severely beaten by three juvenile inmates at the Jack Jones Juvenile Justice Center.
Officer Wall was conducting bed checks when the three inmates attacked him and took his keys. When another officer came to check on Officer Wall, the inmates attacked him too, inflicting non-life threatening injuries.
The three detainees escaped from the facility and stole a car from a nearby gas station. Two of the suspects were apprehended the following day and charged with capital murder. The third suspect was apprehended later and was also charged with capital murder.

On January 17, 2007, while driving home from work, Stephanie Freeman's vehicle collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Martha Mitchell Expressway/Market Street. Freeman was rushed by ambulance to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC), where on January 18, 2007 she passed as a result of the serious injuries she sustained during her accident.
Stephanie was employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for six (6) years, where she was the agencies time-pay/warrants clerk.

Chief Deputy Lloyd “Pete” Harrison

John Lloyd "Pete" Harrison, age 67 of Pine Bluff, Arkansas died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at his home. Mr. Harrison was born to the late John Andrew and Cora Luvenia Robinson-Harrison. He was reared and received his early education in Sherrill, Arkansas, graduating from Altheimer High School.
Chief Deputy Harrison worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for forty-one (41) years, serving as the agencies Chief Deputy from 1976 until his retirement on December 31, 2004.

Criminal Investigator Kevin L. Brosch

Cause of Death: Helicopter Crash in Mt. Ida, Arkansas
Date of Passing: July 24, 1986
Criminal Investigator Kevin L. Brosch, Trooper Charles Bassing of the Arkansas State Police, and Detective James Avant of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, were killed on July 24, 1986 in a helicopter crash in Mt. Ida, Arkansas. He was 34 years of age at the time of his death.
Criminal Investigator Brosh along with Trooper Bassing and Detective Avant were participating in a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Marijuana Eradication Spotter School, when the helicopter in which they were riding began experiencing mechanical problems and crashed shortly after taking off. The helicopter, which had just been refueled, burst into flames. All three officers were burned to death as a result.
Investigator Brosch had been employed with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office for six years, and is survived by his wife, two young children, and parents.
Deputy Sheriff Lustachia Browder

Suspect Info: Apprehended
Deputy Browder was killed after being stabbed and shot with his own service weapon. Deputy Browder and other deputies had raided a nightclub the previous night but one of the suspects had evaded capture. He was attempting to arrest that suspect but the man stabbed him in the chest during the arrest. The man then gained control of Deputy Browder's service weapon and shot him twice, killing him.
The suspect fled the scene but turned himself in later that day.
Deputy Browder had served with the agency for 30 years.

Suspect Info: Charges dropped
Deputy Crowder was shot and killed in an ambush while driving home from an investigation. It is believed that he was shot as the result of his relentless efforts to combat bootlegging in the county. A suspect was arrested but charges were later dropped due to a lack of evidence.
Deputy Crowder had served with the agency for 12 years. He was survived by his wife.
