HAVE A SAFE MEMORIAL DAY

Dear Citizens:

As a veteran myself, I would like to take this time to thank all of my fellow service men and women of the armed forces, who have served or are currently serving in our Nation’s Military.  I would ask that as we celebrate this upcoming Memorial Day that we also remember the significant of Memorial Day and recount the sacrifices of our soldiers.

Memorial Day is a day in which we remember and honor all men and women who have died serving our country.  As you celebrate with family and friends, please be safe and take this time to remember our brave soldiers, who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.

Memorial Day has also become the unofficial start of summer, much like Labor Day is the unofficial start of fall.  This means that our roadways and waterways will be busy.

Seat belts are one of the most effective vehicle safety features equipped in a vehicle and helped saved countless lives.  Please buckle up and drive safe.

The men and women of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office wish all traveling grace on this Memorial Day.
