SHERIFF'S OFFICE JANUARY 2024 PROMOTIONS:  The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office would like to recognize five deputies promoted during the month of January 2024. Their promotions are a direct result of their hard work and dedication to the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Jefferson County. We look forward to them furthering their careers and their newly assigned leadership roles.

 Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. stated: "Today's promotions are not just a reflection of your individual capabilities but also a testament to their dedication, hard work, and leadership qualities. These members of our staff have consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence in your duties, showing a deep understanding of the JCSO's core values and a passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. As they step into their new roles, I am confident that they will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service. 

As a reminder to them and all who have others under their command, leadership is not just about giving orders; it's about inspiring others, fostering teamwork, and leading by example. This reminder underscores a quote by retired Command Sergeant Major Scott Schroeder that I live by and encourage others to as well; "Leadership is a responsibility to do more, not an excuse to do less."

The journey of those promoted today to their respective positions has prepared them well, and I have no doubt that they will excel in guiding the personnel under their command towards success. We all offer our support and collaboration as these members of our staff take on their new responsibilities. Together, we will continue to strengthen our commitment to the safety and well-being of our community.
